ur Ceylon teas (imported from Sri Lanka) packed in handcrafted wooden boxes, won the Golden Award in Germany at the Anuga Food Fair in October 1997. They are selected from the highest elevations and the tea leaves are hand picked from the youngest buds of the tea plants for the most intense flavor. Our tea bags are bleached with oxygen and not chlorine. The timber used for our boxes comes from the Albizzia molluccana tree, grown on tea estates to provide shade to the tea plant. This tree is cut down periodically as it overgrows and the timber is then dried in the sun, turning white. The printing of the boxes is done by hand through a four-color screen-printing process. Once the screens are prepared, they are placed over each panel of the box and applied manually with a brush.

Available in a variety of flavors, our teas are carefully prepared and packed immediately, retaining nature's gifts. Each box contains 25 sealed tea bags and features a unique and charming moment in the evolution of tea and the art of tea drinking. Enjoy each refreshing blend and celebrate the rich history of Roya's Tea Garden.

The Tea Bag Story… a tea importer was trying to save money. He sent samples of his tea in small silk bags rather than the commonly used tins. When retailers brewed the tea, they were so pleased that they began ordering more in bags than tins.
